Verse in Vac
Verse in Vac (ViV) works with students during their long S.4 and S.6 holidays — an intensive two-month programme of writing sessions that culminates in a live production staged at the National Theatre.
It has produced some of Kitara Nation’s most celebrated shows, giving young poets a professional experience of writing, rehearsing and performing to a public audience.
- Productions: Hajji’s Daughter · Teenage Revolution · Obwakare na kare · Ebibuuzo Bikomyewo · Name Your Poison · Bribe the Poem
- 2-month intensive · National Theatre · UGX 300,000 per intake
- Writing workshops, mentorship and performance coaching
Emboozi Teba Nkadde — Poetry
Emboozi Teba Nkadde is Kitara Nation’s poetry pillar under the CREATE Programme (Mastercard Foundation, ITC and Bayimba Foundation). It helps young women become published, market-ready poets through poetry publishing skilling, market access and business development support.
Launched around World Poetry Day, it deliberately reaches high school girls, persons with disabilities and refugees, and runs through schools, community and faith structures, and PWD and refugee networks.
- Poetry publishing skilling · market access · business development support
- For young women — high school students, PWDs and refugees
- In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, ITC and Bayimba Foundation
